Novice Hockey Tournament!

Malinda Selever is trying to put together one or two teams to play in a novice tournament in college station. Barry has agreed to play and another goalie wants to play, so we need 15 to 25 more people to get the teams together. If you are interested please let Malinda know, so she can appoint another captain and get the teams set up.

End of the season party!

Mal and I were talking about having an end of the season party for all novice players and their guests. The location is to be determined but we suggested Fox & Hound on Westheimer along with Bakers Street Pub in Sugar Land. Or if someone would like to offer their home and a BYOB we could do that too.

The day would be Saturday September 28th, the day before we play Willowbrook for the cup.

Answer the poll to the right so we can get an idea if there is an interest here.

Send me an email with suggestions or comments.

Thanks,
Jason

Spring 2008 Game 4

The final game of the regular season is over and Polar Express is on top with 2 wins, 1 loss, and 1 tie giving them a total of 5 points for the season. We have a tie for 2nd and 3rd between Green Machine and Red Zepplins with 4 points and bringing up the rear is Sugar Land Blues with 3 points. Congratulations to Polar Express for a great regular season! But now it's time for the playoffs where points mean nothing and the winner takes all.

Here are the stats for Game 4.

The Green Machine started their early lead with 2 goals in the first period. It wasn't until the second that the Sugar Land Blues got on the board with a goal followed closely by another one from Team Green. The Blues tried to stay alive with one more but couldn't hold on with back to back goals from the powerful Green Machine. With thirty shots on goal the Green Machine dominated this game.

Polar Express got on the board first with a late goal in the first period. Then it wasn't until the final period that they nailed another one in which was followed closely by the Red Zepplins to get on the board. Neville Fernandes put one in the empty net to seal the deal at the end of the third period. With a great defenseive lineup and a great game by the new goalie Gyenes team Polar Express swallowed the Red Zepplins in a 3-1 victory.

Spring 2008 Game 3

Game three into the season and it looks like the Red Zepplins are the team to beat. Taking the lead in the Spring Novice League Season with 2 wins and 1 loss. With only one more game before the playoffs can they hold their lead?

Here are the stats for Game 3.

The Red Zepplins took the lead early in the first period with 4 goals. Taking a dominating 11 shots on goal in that period alone. The green machine tried to come back in the second period with a goal but just couldn't keep the pressure on.
Red Zepplins VS Green Machine

It was a great fight between these two teams with Sugar Land Blues taking the lead in the second. Finally in the third during a power play the Polar Express came back with one to match, ending the game in a tie.

Stick & Puck Schedule is now posted!

You can now view the current Stick & Puck schedule from the link under reminders on the left hand side. This is a great way to practice up on your skills you have learned in practice. Not to mention it is great if want a ton of ice time. Be aware Saturday drop ins tend to be the high level high school kids. I tend to believe that if you practice with people above your level you tend to get better... But this is just my opinion.
